    HUNDREDS of frozen chickens brought the M5 between Clevedon and Portishead to a standstill this morning. The motorway had to be closed after a lorry carrying 1,000 frozen chickens crashed, spilling its load over the motorway.     Work is scheduled this month on three road schemes in North Somerset costing nearly half a million pounds. A £60,000 road-resurfacing scheme in Portishead started on September 17 at Valley Road between the junction with Down Road and Weatherly Drive.
