PARENTS and carers have until the end of next month to have their say about schools admission procedures in North Somerset.

A consultation is underway on the proposed admission arrangements for community, foundation, trust, voluntary-aided and voluntary-controlled schools in the district for 2011/12.

This includes the proposed new intake and in-year arrangements, admission numbers and over-subscription criteria, as well as new geographical areas for secondary schools.

The consultation also includes in-year arrangements for 2010/11 and a new fair-access protocol.

Comments can be made until March 1 and paper copies are available on request.

Comments on the proposed arrangements for foundation, trust and voluntary aided schools should be sent to the head teacher or chair of governors for that school.

For further information contact North Somerset Council's school admissions team on 01275 884 794 or visit
