Walk with the Lions!

PORTISHEAD Lions Club is holding a sponsored walk on May 23 around the Lake Grounds.

The event, called 'Walk with the Lions' will involve studens from Trinity Primary, HighDown Infants and Portishead Primary

Each school will be raising sponsorship money.

The event is also being organised to celebrate the Lake Grounds centenary this year.

There will be three walks starting at 10.30, 11.15 and 12 noon.

Local celebrity, Nigel Parker from Homebase, will be starting the walks.

Asburys Estate Agents are the main sponsor but other organisations in the town have contributed items so that each child walking will be given a goodie bag when they finish.

Businesses which have helped include Waitrose, Brewsters, Pets at Home, Dreams, Avon and Somerset Police.

The ATC are helping on the day and the local police and fire brigade will have officers and vehicles there for the children to sit in. There will also be a hoopla stall and face painting
