Turn Out The Cabstand Lights!

At long last! After years of discussion and thousands of pounds, it looks like the Cabstand Lights will be switched off for a trial period over the summer.
The trial's likely to be over the last couple of weeks in August and the first couple of weeks in September. Apparently, the move is designed to see if we can go back to just common sense driving at Cabstand - come on Portishead!

Exactly, and there will be less fumes to breathe in as well.

ReportImagine how much energy will be saved when the lights are out, traffic is not held at lights and can continue freely.

ReportThey were talking about replacing it with a roundabout at one point, which sounds like a much better idea...as long as they don't then put lights back on it!

ReportI sometimes sit in that traffic for 10 minutes, and I'm not exaggerating. It's seriously messed that junction up.
And weren't there somethign like 2,000 people out protesting about it some years ago? It's taken the council this long to get it sorted?

ReportThank the Lord. About time - finally - that the council admitted their mistake and got this sorted
