The Bristol City season ticket holder is calling on his musical contacts to stage a musical day of action in the city, and has asked the council for permission to put on a peaceful protest event on College Green.

Mikee, 40, told the

“It would have given Bristol City FC a substantial amount of capital towards the approved new stadium at Ashton Vale.”

“It’s not just about the football club. It’s about the music venue, it’s about the history of Bristol.”

Mr Freedom, of Backwell, was keen to stress the peaceful nature of his plans in light of the level of anger targeted at councillors involved in the decision.

Founder of The Music Works and event co-organiser Jon Stokes has contacted the likes of Tricky, Massive Attack and Portishead to get involved.

The event, with the working title ‘Bounce around the city’, is likely to be on September 18. If council permission to stage the event on College Green is not given, it is hoped the event can be held in the car park at Ashton Gate.
