Pylon consultation to start again

ENERGY giant National Grid is to launch a further round of consultation for people to have their say on controversial plans to put a new 400,000 volt power line across the North Somerset countryside.

National Grid is organising a series of meetings this month with towns and parish councils along the proposed route of the proposed overhead power line.

The meetings will give further information to local councillors on various aspects of the scheme, including the sub sea option, under grounding of cables and the possible health affects of any new line.

The move to hold additional consultation sessions came after after the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) said National Grid had not provided enough information on the alternatives to overhead cables.

Once the meetings with the councils are complete there are plans to hold a series of further information sessions for the public.

These are due to take place towards the end of May and throughout June although no dates, times or venues have yet been confirmed.

Energy bosses want to create the new 37 mile line bring electricity from the proposed new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point on to its transmission network.

It is looking at a series of options for the new line along two route corridors, both of which would cut across swathes of the North Somerset and Somerset countryside.

These could include decommissioning the existing 132,000 volt overhead electricity line, which runs parallel to the M5 between Bridgwater and Avonmouth, and adopting the same route for the 400,000 volt line.

The second option is to construct a new 400,000 volt line parallel to the existing line.

Another option to create a new power line to the east of the existing line is also being put forward.

A consultation got underway last year with thousands of people raising concerns about the plans and lack of alternatives provided to overhead cables.

They said the towering pylons would be a blight on the countryside and called for the cables to be put under the Severn Estuary.

National Grid spokeswoman, Jane Taylor, said: "We are organising additional presentations and exhibitions starting with town and parish councils.

"What came out of the last consultation was that people wanted more information about certain aspects of the project such as the option of sub sea cables, the health impact and the alternatives to putting the cables over ground.

"What we are doing is planning to go back out to the public with more information about these specific aspects of the project.

"We have been working with experts within our project team to put this information, which is highly technical, in a form that people will be able to easily understand.

"People will have the opportunity to give feedback on this further information.

"Consultation with residents and councils will continue throughout the project."

National Grid had hoped to announce its preferred route corridor for the line in February.

But because of the extra consultation ordered by the IPC, this is likely to be announced later this year.

Once the route is confirmed further detailed negotiations will have to take place with councils, landowners and residents.

An application will then be submitted to the IPC, which will have the final say on whether the new power line can go ahead.

Should be "psychology" I wish this system had an edit button for type errors ... in everything else in life if printed wrong one can correct it ... only computers seem to be incapable due to the re-circuit macro writing problems of the goto statement in C++ which basically this is written in and Assembly out of parts alreayd adopted by others 4 GL using existing rather than writing complete sets of routines, gamers do it which is why games are so trite, cheap but good sale profit margin. That is why Sat Nav goes wrong. Anybody for the Euphrates Delta navigation re-training course ? not much use the Euphrates Delta will have altered by now. The problem is you end up with Stack Overflow and data parameter excess errors, somebody should have told the banks that before the big Zero addition but technicians sell stuff before it is complete on fast track Ambulance roll out programmes in the general panic, then sell a bolt on part at extra cost. Business! It should be completed before rolled out across the Milau valley, not after propped on Medit scrub bush wood parts when bent. So the country ended up as an assembly plant boring the kids and making no progress.

As I am not "taking" anything and obviously some people cannot write coherent logical 'script in an intelligent manner to explain their meaning then I leave the future to show MajorAl whatever that means to find out for himself or herself what will transpire if people with minds that try to twist that other people write to their own devices succeed, since that 2010 insult you have lost the rest of Louisiana Transocean, a Russian oil rig and 651 Philippine peoples, Australia, Egypt and Libya have been destroyed and you are further in debt with Euro plastic chip on Equity than anybody could imagine, so DC and GO pulled us out completely, time we were no longer ordered what to do by the USA and French and long overdue since the early 1970s when nobody wanted to be in the EEC and we used to have connections with some other than Islamic terrorist pirates, NATO and peculiar states that persecute children. We had education, University, design, industry, quality, food water and peace, now we seem to have a persistent battle with sludge and city riot and traffic jams, not for want of trying by salesmen in taxis and bus companies fighting for government tax finance to set up a private company and sell insurance while driving on a mobile 'phone while ringing their Brokers at some newspaper hacking the 'phone call in case somebody steals a march on them. Meanwhile the BBC feeds false information on behalf of the chaos to make everybody depressed in case they do not buy into pscychology for people who are perfectly normal and accuse them of forgetting something they never did. It is called accusation and is falsehood, the last thing they can stand is to find out they were wrong, I research that is my job in physical science not sociology which I leave to better than I in that qualification, if we research we deal with Truth, other people conveniently seem to wish to not listen there is not much we can do after saying except stop them if they break the law by going further and that happened in Egypt 2011 and so they remain in the darkness. At least they cannot find their way out to attack anybody else as the sand is too deep and moves about, basically the land has blown away, but it said that in the Bible long before I was born. I have no wish to spend all day filling The Ditch so people can return to the past we move on forward away from it all, good not to have any past burdens to cart along bogging us down. I cannot even write backwards in hieroglyph nor be so accusing as to imagine people would say that opposite to that they want in the hope that they could protect something by putting somebody off the subject, I just state fact, I have no idea what you are talking about! It has taken years for items to be come apparent, White Horse Red Horse Black Horse and then trade, it only becomes apparent as it happens then we know. Prediction is rubbish other than the obvious that if you fall off a cliff you will suffer injury. Anybody can change the progress to obviate a prophecy except a real prophecy is based on fact as that happening. It happened at the time that is how I end up research and Senior Lecturer, that could never have been said at 4 years of age so booking somebody a University place as a grandparent is ludicrous they will most likely suffer a disaster being forced there. Anyway that is established fact and forward we go into the better way. There is no need to "take" anything, just be normal.

So the Pylon argument for 400,000 Voltaire is actually to do with the Hinkley C Nuclear ? after all that, it was claimed as an environmental debate and planning issue for a punch up and making newspaper fluff, now all that has gone since Hugh gave testimony and Piers is carpeted perhaps we could have had this explained clearly to the public general in the first place. We are being asked to condone a massive cable system for a load of nuclear and concrete pollution just as we are putting up with tonnes of waste steel and concrete blowing up in wind storms and that will not be the last collapse. And we are told nuclear is environmental, no it is not anymore than windmills, it is business, that is why they sold it to a private company which everybody forgets and US runs only on private, so did 3 Mile Island, but I supposed a country still digging The Ditch in Egypt since 1942 and besotted with the ideology of free energy and high profiteering is bound by prejudices. Well my grandfather left the Costwolds in good order in 1967 which basically connects your existing 132 line and his cows were never fried, but that was electricity from controllable sources, after Japan Honshu I could not say we might see such engineering control again? It all sounds horribly French Indian Ocean Atoll to me; Michael Caine, in "Water", anyway I am off to smell the garlic. So you can see why on occasion I Preach ! as the Internet is such a pain, but it does give us the first opportunity to be heard since Univesity College was turned into a bowling alley full of people swearing oaths. We might be out as far as work is concerned but we can be vociferous as we knew what a good Life is. Never sell your country out to the Gauls for pieces of worthless plastic, nor build temporary bridges for war across the Severn and Milau on behalf of Romans.
