PEOPLE in Portishead will be paying less for their services from the town council this year.
Portishead Town Council has set its 2010/11 precept at £311,890 – a reduction of just over three per cent on last year.
This year’s precept means that a band D homeowner will be paying £34.04 a year – compared to £35.16 in 2009/10 for services provided by the town council.
The decrease in the bill comes as a result of an increase in the number of properties in the town.

Hmmm...do you think we could make this a nationwide thing? Portishead leading the way?
