Children from a North Somerset pre-school have painted a mural that will now be proudly displayed at the entrance to its building.

The idea came about when staff at Meadowside pre-school in Backwell wanted the children to create something that would show what life is like at the highly rated pre-school.

Fortunately one of the children’s mums, Karen Phillips runs her own pottery painting business and stepped in to help.

With Karen’s guidance the children then created a 20-tile panel which they drew and then painted.

The masterpiece was then glazed and fired in Karen’s home kiln before she set the panel in a frame and presented it back to the pre-school.

Karen said: “The children had a great time drawing and then painting the panel. It’s a great way for them to get creative and the end result is a beautiful piece of artwork that will hang proudly at the pre-school.”
