Affecting Port's Head

Talking of things affecting Portishead I was looking at the Blaenau Ffestiniog site visited in 1967 and it has not been assisted by HM renovation conservation unit in the slightest, even when the country was claimed lucratively wealthy and most seriously subscribed with excellent technology. Towered over by heaps of slate rubble that seem to be expanding as the years go by, affecting Portishead as it is the slate industry and Geologists attend to best qualification in Wales, the same as Aberfan was rarely assisted to recover after the slip, just buried in grass slopes, some it it in concrete Taff Valley with little engineering geology work (1973 GCAD). Instead of that, the coal spread at the North East and Scotland, the denial of Annan, the government has spread the private companies through offshore finance companies into more devastation of other people's countries in oil, clay, fast cut timber when we have our own under Forestry Commission control, Brazil Norse Petroleum, Mozambique Channel pilot drills (no wonder John Cleese was looking at Lemurs and their safety), minerals exploitation. We live near a Phosphorus tip reputed to have been used to bomb Vietnam. And this is election year, an election we have been waiting for since 1971. That was 4 years after I began work on research subjects, 4 years before the US left Vietnam.  Now they are building electricity waste all over Scotland and Wales and electric cars, which were available in the 1970s, just as masses of oil comes on stream and yet is usually supressed by OPEC to keep "fuel shortage" prices up, white diamonds! People tell people they cannot work because of carbon, that is bad your bones are made of it. Dig up Alaska politics it is cheaper than Texas. It affects us as our children get left this legacy to deal with and it sends the costs through the roof, rather than slate protecting the roof with some decent design. Skilled people end up digging waste tips. Mind you we have little Geology left now, it is just treated as an academia of historic events, rather than the backbone of present process events and British Industrial success. Iron Ore mines in Australia are wiping out the Outback so the Spider will no longer have a shed to hide under the seat. Deep dangerous mines in South Afrfica for poverty stricken miners with little choice, ships with staff kept like prisoners excavating the seabed. Transfer costs, selling stock without transferring local available useable items to keep the prices rolling along across the tops of people run down in the streets. Cynicism.
