THERE'S no need for the little ones to be bored during the summer holidays - they can have fun and keep active at the same time.

A number of sporting activities are being offered throughout North Somerset to keep them occupied, whether it's trampolining or learning how to disco dance.

At Gordano Sports Centre in Portishead youngsters can try their hand at archery, dancing and Thai boxing at a special holiday club.

They can also learn karate as well as other sports and for more information parents can ring 01275 843942.

At Parish Wharf Leisure Centre in Portishead young people are being offered the chance to get fit before the new school term starts.

The centre is offering a MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition ...Do it!) course throughout the holidays.

The course is free and runs for 10 weeks and is aimed at children who need to improve their fitness and lose weight who are aged between eight and 13 years old.

For more information on the programme and to book one of the limited places, call reception on 01275 848494

The centre is also holding day fun camps which run from Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.15pm and costs £15 a day or £65 a week.

Youngsters can enjoy a range of activities from badminton to football and tennis and even movies with munchies.
