Do you want to improve your instrument, vocal or dance skills? Then sign up for the Rock and Dance Academy!
This will be held atPortishead Youth Centre during the school summer holidays over six days (August 16,17,18 and 23, 24, 25) with a final performance on the sixth day.
The academy is open to all 11 to 19 year olds from North Somerset who can play an instrument such as guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, or sing and dance.
Also as part of the programme youngsters can learn about music technology and recording techniques. The academy will be led and mentored by professional musicians and dance teachers.
Not only will students be tutored on various playing techniques and how to rehearse and play in a band, but they will study all types of music and prepare for a performance.
Participants will also have an opportunity to record their music with their band in the recording studio!
The academy will run between 10.30am and 4.00pm each day with a weekend break. With the successful granting of funding from Find Your Talent the academy is free, but a registration fee of £5 is payable.
