Support Your Local Pubs and Clubs

In the past week, The White Lion has closed down and also The Poacher will be closing next week, I think its about time that some of the 18,000 residents of Portishead start supporting the local hostelries. The White Lion is a listed building, and The Poacher is the oldest pub in Portishead. Both will be sorely missed. Hopefully both will reopen again, but they will need support or we will lose, two landmarks in the High Street

I can't believe The Poacher has closed. I have always thought it is a great pub and a good place for live music. Let's hope it isn't closed permanently and turned into flats like so many other buildings in Portishead. It is the oldest pub in Portishead and would be such a shame if it didn't re-open. I would hate to see another part of Portishead's heritage disappear.
