Join the Sing for Water sessions

PEOPLE are being invited to stretch their vocal chords and join a sponsored singing event. Singers in Portishead are gearing up to take part in the Big Sing event on July 9 at the Ampitheatre, Harbourside, Bristol. The event will raise money for WaterAid’s life saving projects in Ghana and Malawi where just £15 can give someone access to clean water, improved sanitation and hygiene education. The Portishead Sing for Water choir it taking part in the event and a number of sessions are being held in the town so people can learn the songs and join in too. Choir leader Wendy Sergeant and singer Chris Parfitt will be leading the session at Avon Way hall each Wednesday at 7.30pm-9.30pm from June 8. There will also be a practice on July 8 and on July 9 from 10am to 12noon and there will be a fundraising concert in Portishead on July 16.
