Pill Regatta this weekend

THE River Avon at Pill will turn into a hive of activity at the weekend for the village's annual regatta.

The regatta is on Saturday (August 7) and will see several races along the river, where teams of newcomers will pitch their wits against event veterans.

Races starts at around 3pm but the fun will start earlier with the newly formed Pill Festival Band playing on the village green from 2pm.

There will also be a tombola, greasy pole competition and entertainment from Wizo the Wizard.

There will also be a barbecue and a programme of live music topped off by local band Jeliphish.
