There are plans to introduce a 20mph limit right along Portishead High Street along with some new traffic calming measures. the new limit would run from Cabstand to the roundabout at the junction of St Peter's Road. However, the scheme is proving quite unpopular with some members of the community who say the money could be spent better elsewhere - such as introducing speed reduction measures at Quays Avenue, Harbour Road and Wyndham Way.
