Have I missed something regarding the improvements in junction 19? New bright white lines and letters showing directions, good, but how exactly are they helping to tackle the rush hour traffic conjestion? People driving this way during rush hour know their way around, they don't need a bright 'P'head' or 'M5' to tell the where to turn... For a few weeks a jcb and a few people with yellow jackets were creating an open space, it looked like there was going to be a new lane!!! Was that just a landscape excersice? The highways agency website says that there are some new lights to be installed...not sure how this will help either... Has anyone got any up to date information?

When is the highways department going to wake up to the fact that a round-a-bout at the Coop lights would serve road users much more effeciently than the present lights and also do away with the double pedestrian crossings into the car park wich is an absolute pain at the moment!. there is plenty of space to put the round-a-bout and it would cut down all that pollution of cars waiting at the lights!

Arahni, the changes to J19 are not complete yet.

They will add traffic lights before the point where the 369 joins the roundabout, allowing traffic from Portishead to flow onto the Motorway more easily and the same on the other side of the roundabout.

The model also shows there will be 2 lanes leading off the roundabout towards Portishead.

The current lights have been upgraded partially already to intelligent, fast changing lights which already allow traffic through at a faster rate.
