Is anyone else fed up with all the potholes on roads in North Somerset? Has anyone suffered damage to their car? Let us know where you think the worst pothole is. Post your comments here.

Have seen a couple of websites to report pot-holes recently.
tinyurl.com/55cs3w
or you can report directly to North Somerset council

I haven't come across any myself but I had to smile when I read North Somerset Council's definition of a pothole. Not all holes in the road are potholes - they have to be deeper than 4cm and more than 30cm across to be classed as a pothole, while footway potholes must be deeper than 2cm and more than 60cm across. So get your tape measure about before you report one!
Some of the potholes you see are more like open-air swimming pools!!
There is a big one about to re-open at the top of Mendip Road (actually on Lower Down Road) by the crossing. It grew overnight and was filled in fairly quickly, but you can see it is caving in again already!

Thieves steal graffiti !!!
we have bus stops painted yellow graffiti on our roads here, they can have that also.
Must have cost £16,000 you will pay out of your taxes or fares when they scream they are destitute.
Must have been short sighted thieves, perhaps we are to get computer guided auto bus or short sighted drivers ? We certainly have a short sighted bus company.

Potholes are bad enough. What I'd like to know is which bright spark believes that the marina road requires ALL of the spare speed bumps in north somerset. Rather than simply one or two placed carefully to deter speed on entry etc?
They're ridiculous.

ReportProbably the same bright spark that realises that traffic humps are similar to speed cameras, the majority of people will automatically increase their speed once having successfully passed one. Actually it's a fairly effective 'stick and carrot' approach to solving the problem of inappropriate speed. Once motorists realise the implications and ongoing cost of replacing front suspension arm bushes, caused by going over the humps too fast, their pockets will eventually force them to slow down. However I do believe reading recently that one Portishead resident has a novel approach to local traffic calming measures, and that is to speed up instead of slowing down. I'd be interested if he does this in his own private car, or in a vehicle that's maintained and paid for by someone else.
It would be fine-if it was balanced. At least 7 in about 300 yards of road is totally ridiculous and unjustified.

It would be fine, if it was balanced. 8 in 300 yards of road is stupid-way over the top and unjustified.
