A Post Office in a Pub in the Village Quarter!!
What nonsense, it needs to be easily accessible both on foot and by car not hidden away in the warren that is the Village Quarter. There are vacancies at West Hill with parking and Bus service giving people at the top of Portishead flat walking access. Of course there used to be a post office at West Hill until it was closed! So it probably wont be allowed to be reinstated!
It seems to me that the above arguments are not based on any FACTS. The best way too settle the best position would be to survey the people standing in the queue in the current Post Office and position the new office accordingly.

If you've ever walked up Avon Way to the shops at West Hill you know there is only one sensible location for a second post office and that is West Hill. We've already got a post office in the lower part of Portishead, so would be selish to have a second one in the Village Quarter (where there is no obvious location for one). Only specialist shops (model trains and hand made chocolates) will ever survive there.
If this is correct and from rumurs I have heard it will go in the chocolate shop this is absolute madness from the Post office do they not listen to there costomers If this Post Office is not used they will close it down and say Portishead did not need a second Post Office and that is not what the people of Portishead want
Think new developments. Think Developer. Think Retail and think of a well known name. Think larger than the Chocolate Shop. Some councillors never wanted it up West Hill in the first place. Don't blame the Post Office - there are more people involved in this decision. All will be revealed and when the publicity photo goes in the press, you will know who was steering this.
Perhaps in the new Sainsburys?
Btw - What is happening in regard to Sainsburys? Has it got planning permission? When are they going to start building? Will it have a petrol station?
I'd love to know! Thanks!
