Profile image for Hinchcliffe

Watched Inside Out on BBC this evening re Fred Weatherley. My cousin Elsie Griffin was given Danny Boy and Roses of Picardy by Fred and made them famous during World War 1. She worked at Fry's Choc Factory aged 14 then became principal soprano for D'Oyly Carte singing Gilbert & Sullivan operas. There is a blue plaque in her memory on St Michael's on the Mount Without School, off Park Row, which was erected on Feb 8th 2012 and arranged by her cousin (me) Anne Colley.
