Portishead Post Office

Always queues in the existing post office, which clash with the shops checkout, why can’t the post office go back to the sorting office? We still use that post office to pick up parcels…
Any views ?

Wish they'd re-open another Post-Office at the top of the hill again.
At busier times it's actually quicker to drive to Clevedon and use the post-offices there!!

WHY IS IT THAT CLEVEDON HAS THREE POST OFFICES AND NAILSEA STILL HAS A CROWN OFFICE WITH SIX COUNTER POSITIONS, WHEN PORTISHEAD ONLY HAS ONE POST OFFICE WITH ONLY FOUR POSITIONS AND HORRENDOUS QUEUES. THE POPULATION HAS GROWN CONSIDERABLY IN PORTISHEAD AND IS BIGGER THAN THE OTHER TWO TOWNS. TIME FOR A RETHINK.

I have been to the Post Office twice in the last two weeks, the first time I had to queue for 40 minutes and again today (saturday) the queue was over 20 minutes. It is a insult to expect people to wait in a line for so long just to post a letter.

I agree with the general feeling that Portishead should have a sole-purpose Post Office. It is ridiculous to have queues right the way through the middle of a newsagents, it puts people off wanting to shop. I think it would be a good idea to have a Post Office counter in Sainsburys, but also have a main Post Office in the High Street. Portishead's population is getting bigger and we are having more and more amenities/facilities taken away from us compared to our neighbouring towns.

A friend of mine rang me this morning about the Post Office. He has been trying to pay a bill there for days! He gave up in the end and went elsewhere. He said the queues were ridiculous and spilling out onto the street again. A very strong reason I think for another post office in Portishead!

I'm sure the posties are doing all they can to get the mail out, without risking their lives in this terrible weather. Portishead needs another post office or at least a larger one.

With the High street closed, we can now safely queue out into the high street to use the Post office …

Why do people insist on paying bills in a post office when there are ample other methods of payment? I only queue in the post office when I have no other option - i.e. when I wan't to post a parcel!
