Plans are being discussed with North Somerset Chamber of Commerce to hold a major Rock Festival featuring high quality acts, showcasing emerging local talent and encompassing a 'Battle of the Bands' style competition, ensuring the event is likely to attract high quality local Bands from the District and music lovers alike. Plans to include an Art display, Stands, Stalls and a Beer and Ale Festival aspect, have yet to be confirmed.
Clevedon's prestigious Hand Arena complex, owned by successful local Businessman Nick Davies, has been hinted at as being one of the area's favoured establishments currently being considered as the venue for this major event on the South West's music calendar.
The Hand Arena have been massively improved following major investment in refurbishment, expansion and development of the facilities, with such ammenities as the QDos Music Bar with luxurious Lounge and the impressive Staging and Hospitality facilities, making this impressive establishment an ideal location for a prestigious music and community event.
Bristol and North Somerset's own up and coming Brit-Rock Indie Band, Heavy Plant Crossing (http://tinyurl.com/2bw4y6s), who will be playing at the Weston Rock Festival for Weston In Bloom's Community Show at 1pm on Saturday 26th June, are rumoured to be amongst the favoured emerging musical talents being earmarked as likely headlining acts for the local aspect of this major music event.
A percentage of the proceeds of the event will be for the benefit of North Somerset based local Charities and the distribution of funds will be decided by a committee including the President of North Somerset Chamber of Commerce and other involved local parties.
