Join Pride in Portishead

THE Pride in Portishead group meet on the first Sunday of each month to carry out litter picking and other work to make sure the town looks tidy and clean.
The group will be concentrating on the Lake Grounds, Esplanade and Battery Point areas of Portishead at its next session on September 6.
Anyone interested should meet at the Lake Grounds cafe at 10am or contact Sandy Tebbut on 01275 843566.
* Have you seen the state of the Lake Grounds after every weekend? There have been complaints about the amount of litter including drink cans and bottles strewn there. There is an alcohol ban in place - so why the cans and bottles? The area is used by many children and families and is described as the jewel in Portishead's crown. Is it becoming a mess, is there a need for more litter bins? Let us have your views.
