A German Requiem, Saturday 19th March 2011
Our Spring Concert features a performance of Brahms A German Requiem, sung in English, and accompanied by two pianos, usiing Brahms own version. The performance on Saturday 19th March at 7.30 pm is likely to be our last performance in the United Reform Church, which may be sold. We welcome back Josephine Goddard, a rising young soprano, who with Baritone Stephen Foulkes joins the soloist line up. Our talented rehearsal pianist, Chester Trinick, is joined by Nicholas Thorne, deputy organist at Bath Abbey to provide the accompanyment.
We hope you will join us to hear this lovely, if testing piece of music which includes the well known "How lovely are thy dwellings fair" .
