Special church service for school starters

A SPECIAL service for children starting school this September is being held at a Portishead church.

The School Bag Sunday service is at St Peter's Church on September 4 at 9.15am.

All children, whether starting school for the first time, moving school or changing class are invited to bring their bags, lunch boxes or book bags to the service.

The service will be an opportunity for children to share their  experience and to receive a blessing.
