RESIDENTS in Portishead will be paying less for the services provided by the town council. Thrifty town councillors have agreed a town council budget of £350,105 for 2012/13, with £316,520 being raised on the precept – a three per cent decrease on last year. The budget means that householders in a band D property will pay £31.89 – 61 pence a week – this year. This is the third consecutive year that the town council budget has been reduced. The reduction comes at the same time as Portishead Town Council is investigating taking on responsibility for a number of assets and services run by North Somerset Council as it battles to save £47 million over the next four years. North Somerset Council is due to set its budget at a meeting next month. Town council chairman, Councillor Arthur Terry, said: "The town council is very pleased that in times of increasing demands on the council, including in the next year taking over the provision of floral displays in the town, responsibility for the youth centre building later in the year, maintaining all the assets and services we already provide and having considerable demands placed on us due to the new Localism Act, the town council has been able by its management of finances to again reduce the burden on the residents of Portishead. "This really is a council doing more for less."

Well they collected it now so it will not blow down t' street and next door and along, just late I guess like so many things, including Cameron's 6 buses coming along all at once which we missed as we walked as we had to get along out of the City as fast as possible, Mr Beeching and other chemists. My opinion for what it is worth as a believer is a student in religious arguments with other students should talk to their Chaplain denomination, not to me as University during staff work research when not allocated to that student work but other, it is all very easy, when at home they have school and can always talk to the local chapel in which event I do not interfere unless they sling it wholesale at me in which case when the rough get going I leave and let the tough get going, contrary to some the prospect of Christianity is not sitting in the street wood hut protesting but to work on forward, going back is useless I lost too many friends in this town to the enemy of commercial panic, already, boyo. The bloke with broadband question, in theory BT ought to work in the dock flats, if anything else does? I was brought up on the hill in a decent school with brick dust and ploughed fields of sandy mud at back so lowland broadband is new to me and in spite of Freemans I do not indulge in cable TV. BT do a good and very wet cold job around here if you want to work here as well as live here?
