PORTISHEAD Town Council has set its budget for 2013-14 and its less than last year.
Town councillors agreed a precept of £292.206 - a decrease of 3.91 per cent on last year.
The precept is equivalent to £30.64 per year for a band D property.
Portishead has managed to reduce its council tax bills at the same time as other town and parish councils have increased theirs to ensure services that have been cut by North Somerset Council continue.
Portishead councillor David Pasley said: "It's good news to see a decrease in the precept especially at a time where other councils are having to increase their budgets by between five and ten per cent.
"The council should be commended for its good control of budgets."
