RESIDENTS in North Somerset are being urged to check on elderly and vulnerable neighbours during the cold weather.
North Somerset Council's meals on wheels staff made sure those in need across the district had something hot to eat today (Friday) by taking out two meals on deliveries yesterday.
Meals on wheels staff have also been out across the district with the council's ranger service, using four by four vehicles to deliver meals.
Authority staff also contacted relatives and carers of vulnerable and elderly people throughout the day to warn them of the impeding wintry weather conditions.
North Somerset Council spokesman, Nick Yates, said: "We are asking people who have elderly or vulnerable neighbours to knock on the door to check they are ok during this cold weather."
