The Good Pub Guide awards for 2013 have been announced with a Churchill pub getting the top accolade.
Good Pub Guide
But throughout North Somerset it is the village establishments rather than the towns which host the best beers and fine wines.
Here are the top places to enjoy good cheer in your area.
Every year the editors of The Good Pub Guide select the very best pubs to receive awards in a range of categories.
These are the very best pubs across the UK selected because of their consistent excellence.
You would have to travel to Cambridgeshire to the Cock, Hemingford Grey, to enjoy a pint at its pub of the year but here is a list of those closer to home.
Winner of the unspoiled pub of the year title goes to the Crown, at Churchill. This unspoiled and unchanging small Somerset cottage is credited with friendly customers and staff, super range of real ales, and homely lunchtime food.
