Fair Editing?

Nice though it is to have one's words reproduced in the On Line Section of the dead tree media Portishead People it would be even better if the editing did not distort what was written.
In this week's copy they report that I wrote
"If a meeting is 'clandestine' or 'confidential' then that too must be respected" whereas I wrote
if a meeting is 'clandestine [somebody else word], or Confidential [my word] .... etc.
By removing the words in the brackets it implies I used the word 'clandestine' a somewhat loaded word, whereas I did not.
Fair editing is all I ask for.
Of course perhaps the alternative is better, do not use this site and leave it it to those who want to advertise and puff their local businesses.

While I completely disagree with virtually everything you've ever posted here BarryW, that I do have to agree with. Editors, do your job properly. Copy and paste is not journalism.
