PEOPLE are being urged to avoid certain routes in North Somerset because of the snow. North Somerset Council say Naish Hill at Clapton-in-Gordano, is extremely icy and alternative routes should be found. A council spokesman said: "All the above are currently extremely icy. They have been gritted and will be gritted again but drivers are advised to avoid these roads for the time being and find alternative routes." Pedestrians are also advised to take extreme care on pavements and footpaths as these are proving icy this morning and the council has not been able to grit them due to resources being focused on the road network overnight
